Summary: Diese Monographie schließt eine Lücke. Arte Povera, "Kunst der Armut", die bedeutendste italienische Kunstrichtung der 2. Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts, beeinflusste entscheidend die europäische Kunst seit Ende der 60er-Jahre und brachte zahlreiche künstlerische Individualitäten hervor. Das Buch basiert auf einer Dissertation und leistet eine gründliche Untersuchung dieses kunstgeschichtlichen und ästhetischen Phänomens. Im einführenden Kapitel, das sich mit der Geschichte und "Ideologie" der Arte Povera befasst, Ausführungen zu insgesamt 11 Aspekten der Bewegung wie Material, Kunst und Leben, Kultur-Mensch-Natur, Ikonoklasmus, Nomadentum. In 3 weiteren Kapiteln werden die wichtigsten Repräsentanten der Arte Povera und mit ihnen 3 verschiedene Spektren der Kunstrichtung vorgestellt: G. Paolini, M. Pistoletto und J. Kounellis. Vorhanden sind sämtliche Verzeichnisse, Register und Kurzbiografien der Künstler. Kleine schwarz-weiße und farbige Abbildungen. Lieferbar auch I.
