Zusammenfassung: |
Abstract
Monocrystalline films of manganese ferrites, ranging from 10 to 50 μm in thickness, were prepared by chemical transport in a closed sandwich‐arrangement. The film compositions and structure qualities were investigated by magnetic, thermomagnetic, X‐ray, and chemical methods. It was possible to get films with different surface habits by special conditions of preparation. Furthermore the existence of considerable differences in the cation ratios of the films could be shown in spite of unchanged source material (MnFe2O4). Apparently mixed crystalline films were formed characterized by the general composition MnxFe3‐xO4. The portion of oxygen, added to the HCl‐transport gas, was, of predominant importance: high oxygen partial pressures (40 torr) resulted in films with x > 1, and at low pressures (10−3 torr) films were prepared with x < 1. It was found that the films were contaminated by magnesium atoms up to 5 weight %.
|
